The spacer has a base body (12) that extends along longitudinal direction (14), where the base body comprises two side surfaces (20, 22) for engagement with glass panes. One of the side surfaces extends along longitudinal direction and comprises groove-shaped receiving recesses (36, 38). The recesses serve for frictional and/or interlocking reception of an angular connector for connecting two sections of the spacer or connecting the spacer with another spacer.
