Arrangement for determining sharpness of e.g. razor blade for cutting e.g. paper, derives sharpness of cutting tool from measured force relationship based on cutting height of test material, and angle of cutting tool
The arrangement has a movement device to provide relative movement between the cutting tool (6) and test material (8). A measuring device (50) is provided to detect force relationship of cutting tool during the relative movement (P1) of cutting tool. The test materials are provided on perforated plate (20). The sharpness of cutting tool during relative movement of cutting tool is derived from the measured force relationship based on speed of relative movement, cutting height (P2) of test material, and angle (P3) of the cutting tool. An independent claim is included for method for determining sharpness of cutting tool.
