Stereoscopic imaging apparatus for recording three-dimensional stereoscopic video, has control unit to control rotation of two cameras to move captured image section in direction parallel to connection line of cameras
The apparatus has a camera (12) i.e. stereo camera, rotatably attached at a carrier (11). Another camera (13) is spaced apart from the former camera and rotatably attached at the carrier. A control unit (15) controls rotation of the two cameras to move captured image sections along the direction parallel to a connection line of the cameras. An input device controls displacement of the captured image section. The control unit controls the cameras to focus on common viewpoints (A-D), where the cameras comprise a curved imaging surface. The input device is selected from a group comprising of a joystick (110), a mouse (111), a rotation transducer (112) and a headtracker (113). An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a stereoscopic imaging apparatus.
