PURPOSE: A phased array ultrasonic inspection method of a branch pipe weldolet welding unit of a nuclear power plant precisely determines the existence of defects inside the weldolet welding unit by applying a phased array ultrasonic probe at the upper part of a weldolet for continuous inspection. CONSTITUTION: A weldolet welding unit (WP) is formed by welding a main pipe (MP) and a branch pipe (SP). A phased array ultrasonic probe (UP) determines defects inside the weldolet welding unit by being installed at the upper part of the weldolet welding unit. The phased array ultrasonic probe is configured to transmit and receive a phased array ultrasonic signal. A variable angle wedge (W) adjusts an incident angle when inputting the phased array ultrasonic probe into the weldolet welding unit. The phased array ultrasonic probe uses a probe of 5-20 MHz frequency.
