The compressor has a fixing screw (22) provided at an air inlet of an inner housing insert (12), for fixing the insert to a spiral housing. A ring-shaped bar (27) is provided at the opposite ends of the housing insert. The bar locks the inner housing insert in the outer spiral housing by compressive force acting on the outer spiral housing via the bar, during the bursting of the compressor wheel. An independent claim is also included for a housing insert formed at a spiral housing as an inner component of a compressor housing.
