PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtrating medium for air filters which is suitable for medium/high performance filters, requires few production processes, is excellent in recyclability, enables fusing and bonding processing when it is processed into a bag-shaped one, is free from damage due to its expansion while it is being used, causes no abrasion brought about by its rubbing against another one, and is excellent in shape maintenance; to provide a streamer-shaped filter and a manufacturing method of the filtrating medium.;SOLUTION: The filtrating medium for air filters comprises an extremely fine fiber layer and a long fiber layer. Extremely fine fiber of 0.1-10 m in average fiber diameter, which is manufactured by a melt-blow method, and thermofusing fiber of 10-100 m in average fiber diameter exist together in the extremely fine fiber layer which is formed by the fusion and bonding of the thermofusing fiber. The long fiber layer is formed with thermofusing long fiber which is manufactured by a span-bond method, and the thermofusing long fiber is thermofused to fiber constituting the extremely fine fiber layer to make the extremely fine fiber layer and the long fiber layer laminated as one body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
