PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a cast material for a drawn wire material, by which a cast material for a drawn wire material hard to cause wire breaking is obtained.;SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a cast material for a drawn wire material that contains 0.5 to 15.0 mass% Ag and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities, and includes the following steps: a preparation step of preparing a Cu material and an Ag material; a separation step of obtaining the molten metal of the Cu material and the Ag material using a high purity carbon-made crucible and of holding the molten metal at a temperature higher than the melting point of the mixture of Cu and Ag for 30 minutes or more so that impurities are separated to the surface of the molten metal; a cast step of obtaining the cast material for the drawn wire material from the molten metal by using a high purity carbon-made mold; and an inspection step of confirming that the amounts of Al and Si contained in a residue collected by a filter are 1 mass ppm or less, respectively, relative to the molten cast material for the drawn wire material when dissolving a part of the cast material for the drawn wire material in an acid and filtering the part with a filter having a pore diameter of 0.2 μm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
