The airbag (2) has three-dimensional shape in a partial area (21), which has mechanical stability, where the airbag is partially folded or unfolded. The three-dimensional shape obtains by forming the airbag under influence of temperature. The airbag has a coating, particularly a silicone coating. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a vehicle component with a backrest; and (2) a method for manufacturing an airbag.
