The invention relates to a method for CT scanning of a heart with a dual source CT device (1) with detectors (3, 5) of different widths in the system axis direction and the reconstruction of tomographic image data, at least two circular scans being carried out at different z positions and the distance in the z direction is selected such that there are at least two first scanning zones (II) which are scanned by a circular scan with two detectors (3, 5; A, B) and at least one second scanning zone (I) results, which is scanned twice in two successive circular scans by a detector (B), a dual-source reconstruction being carried out in the first scanning zones (II) and a two-segment reconstruction being carried out in the at least one second scanning zone (I) and finally a common tomographic image data set is generated.
