PURPOSE: A method for interlocking component based integration simulation environment with a C/C++ simulation program, and an interlocking agent/interface designing method are provided to minimize source code correction of a legacy simulation program. CONSTITUTION: A legacy simulation program is developed in C/C++ environment and has a unique simulation engine. A legacy interlocking agent exchanges time synchronization information and data information between the legacy simulation program and a component based integration simulation environment simulation kernel. A legacy interface provides an interlocking process for communication, time control, and data exchange between the legacy interlocking agent and the legacy simulation program.
