A method for diagnosis of schizophrenia with suicidal behaviour comprises the analysis of erythrocytes of a patient with schizophrenia to identify violations of shape and surface topography of red corpuscles by interference microscopy of red corpuscles in vivo. In holographic interference microscope the interferograms of micro objects are formed. As the radiation source He-Ne laser is used with radiation wavelength of 0.63 micron. The interferograms are obtained in real time scale. The native blood smears are used, images of red corpuscles and their interferographs are registered at film, then they are digitized using the computer interferograms to build three-dimensional images of erythrocytes. By shape and surface relief of erythrocytes as transformation of erythrocyte cells until their complete degeneration with dramatic decrease in number of biconcave discs the conclusion is drawn about defect of erythrocyte pool in schizophrenia.
