PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure shape of uneven sections distributed on the surface of a tire with sufficient accuracy, without relying on visual observation by person, and also to determine whether the tire to be measured is a tire of prescribed normal specification, based on obtained data displaying uneven profile. PSOLUTION: Both the temperature of the uneven sections of a measuring object and surface temperature of tire at domains surrounding the uneven sections are set to mutually different temperatures, measuring area containing at least the uneven sections and their surrounding domains is imaged with an infrared camera, and then temperature distribution pattern data of the measuring domain of the tire is acquired as data representing profile of uneven sections.
