PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of changing a plug by which the mounting/demounting work of the plug can be completed by preventing "galling" arising from the fact that the engagement of the mutual threads progress and the engagement is stopped in the form that the thread on one side runs onto the thread on the other side in the beginning of a screwing stage where screws are screwed to each other when changing a plug.;SOLUTION: When mounting and dismounting the plug, the plug is advanced or retreated while being reversely rotated and prescribed contact force is applied between the same threads on the side of the plug and the side of a bar before the screwing stage. After that, the plug is made to perform a motion to move back and forth for every one rotation, the rotation angle of the plug and the position of the plug are measured by this motion and the rotation angle of the plug and the position of the plug which are optimum to evade the "galling" are detected. Next, the plug is normally rotated from the detected optimum rotation angle of the plug.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
