PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a glass-coated particle containing gold nanoparticles of specified number and size, in a specified form, without using a primer, and to provide a fluorescence enhancement effect, by arranging a phosphor in the vicinity of the glass-coated gold nanoparticle of such structure.;SOLUTION: The gold nanoparticles having 2-40 nm of average diameter are coated with silica glass having 25 nm or less of average shell thickness, in the glass-coated gold nanoparticle. The glass-coated gold nanoparticle is manufactured differently by changing an addition rate of silicon alkoxide. The fluorescence enhancement effect is obtained by arranging the phosphor on the glass-coated gold nanoparticle. The phosphor is arranged on the glass-coated gold nanoparticle, only by conducting replacement on a surface of the specified phosphor with the specified alkoxide, followed to be thereafter brought into contact with an aqueous solution dispersed with the glass-coated gold nanoparticles.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
