The method involves providing passenger-initial position data that are representative for an initial position of a passenger and/or cargo. Passenger-end position data representative for an end position of the passenger and/or cargo are provided. Driver-exit route data are provided, and a starting point and a destination of the passenger and/or cargo are determined. A modified route of a driver through the starting point and destination is determined when length difference between the modified route and exit route of the driver falls below a preset maximum variation. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising instructions to perform a method for determining a starting point and a destination of a passenger and/or cargo (2) a program storage medium or a computer program product comprising instructions to perform a method for determining a starting point and a destination of a passenger and/or cargo (3) an internet-based system comprising a server unit.
