Fluid-dynamic bearing system for spindle motor in hard disk drive, has unit provided for pre-loading of axial bearing and comprising permanent magnet for magnetizing axial bearing surfaces
The system has fluid-dynamic radial bearings (20, 22) provided with radial bearing surfaces lying opposite to each other, and a fluid-dynamic axial bearing (26) provided with axial bearing surfaces lying opposite to each other. The radial and axial bearing surfaces are separated from each other by a bearing gap (16) that is filled with bearing fluid. A unit is provided for pre-loading of the axial bearing, and comprises a permanent magnet (48) for magnetizing the axial bearing surfaces. The axial bearing surfaces are made of ferromagnetic material. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a spindle motor comprising a stator (2) a hard disk drive comprising a magnetic storage disk.
