Driver assistance function e.g. basic function, switching method for car, involves selecting and activating functions during operation of switching element, if preset criteria are satisfied for activation of functions
The method involves selecting successive functions e.g. pilot function and basic function, for driver assistance by actuating a switching element (2). Information about selection and/or about activation of the actually selected functions of the driver assistance is displayed on a display unit (4) e.g. LED. The functions of the driver assistance are selected and activated during operation of the switching element, if pre-determined criteria are satisfied for activation of the functions of the driver assistance. An independent claim is also included for a device for switching different functions of driver assistance in a motor vehicle.
