The device (1) has a pattern-image recording unit (5) recording received object images from a pattern projected on the object. Reference mark image recording units (6a, 6b) record images containing reference marks (7). An image evaluation unit (9) optically measures the object by evaluating the images recorded by the unit (5) for topometric measurement of the objects in an area of a measured volume and by evaluating the images recorded by the units (6a, 6b) for photogrametric determination of coordinates of the marks in an area of another volume that is larger than the former volume. An independent claim is also included for a method for three-dimensional optical measurement of an object.
