A method for preparing a sawdust medium for the cultivation of Lentinus edodes is provided to reduce a production cost in no need of high-priced facilities or apparatuses. A method for preparing a sawdust medium for the cultivation of Lentinus edodes comprises the following steps of: loading sawdust and blocking it from the air; keeping the sawdust under the anaerobic condition for 1-10 months and sterilizing at the temperature of 45-70°C; and inoculating Lentinus edodes spawns to the sterilized sawdust medium and cultivating them. The sawdust is obtained from a broad-leaved tree. The broad-leaved tree is selected from the group consisting of Quercus, Castanea crenata, Castanopsis sieboldii, Meliosma myriantha Siebold & Zucc, Fagus engleriana Seemen ex Diels and Carpinus laxiflora. The anaerobic fermentation takes place under the anaerobic condition. A ratio of the Lentinus edodes spawn and the sawdust medium is 1-5 to 5-9 by volume. Rice bran, calcium carbonate or their mixture is added to the kept sawdust in the anaerobic condition. The sawdust medium includes 1-30wt% of rice bran and 0.01-5wt% of calcium carbonate.
