PURPOSE: A method and a device for managing a phone book in a portable terminal are provided to express information which respectively receives and transmits a telephone number and an address on a phone book, thereby effectively managing personal connections as easily knowing when and what content that a user contacted with a counterpart about each telephone number.;CONSTITUTION: A controlling unit(110) checks whether a message or a call is generated from a registered telephone number on a phone book or not. A storing unit(120) stores information of the message and the call by mapping the telephone number. A displaying unit(130) displays a telephone number registered in the phone book and information of a message and a call stored in the storing unit at the same time. An inputting unit(140) with a plurality of function keys providing data corresponding to a user key to a controlling unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
