PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing excellent myocyte cells having a high metabolizing function and insulin-responding property, also a highly sensitive method for measuring the metabolizing function by using the cells, and further, a culturing system and device for culturing cells, capable of transiting such the highly developed cultured myocyte cells to an activity-evaluating system for many medicines smoothly.;SOLUTION: This method for preparing myotube cells comprises a process of culturing myoblast cells, (2) a process of differentiation-inducing the myoblast cells to myotube cells and (3) a process of giving an electric pulse stimulation on the differentiation-induced myotube cells. The method for measuring an insulin dependent sugar uptake function by using the myotube cells prepared by the method is characterized by giving an insulin stimulation by culturing the cells in a medium containing the insulin, then culturing by further adding sugar into the medium and then measuring the sugar uptake function.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
