PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor angle estimating method of a DC brushless motor for inhibiting an estimation error from increasing in rotor angle, and a controller of the DC brushless motor. PSOLUTION: Periodic signals VhSBd/SB, VhSBq/SBwherein the sum of output voltages becomes zero in three control cycles are superimposed on drive voltages VfbSBd/SB, VfbSBq/SBdue to a current feedback control. The constant drive voltage Vfb is maintained in three control cycles. A sine reference value VsSBdq/SB, a cosine reference value VcSBdq/SBand an inductance reference value L0 are calculated by using first differential currents (dI(0), dI(1), dI(2)) in each control cycle (STEP34). A phase difference estimate value SBE2/SBcorresponding to a phase difference SBe/SBbetween an estimate value and an actual value of the rotor angle is calculated (STEP35). An estimate value ^ of an angular speed is updated by using the phase difference SBE1/SBand an angular acceleration estimate value ASB/SB, and an estimate value ^ of the rotor angle is updated by using the phase difference SBE1/SBand the estimate value ^ of the angular speed (STEP40).
