PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly group handwritten characters, patterns, drawings, or the like with a simple configuration.;SOLUTION: The handwriting data management system comprises an input device and a handwriting data management device. In the handwriting data management system, the input device includes means for detecting its own state and transmitting state information to the handwriting data management device, and the handwriting data management device includes: first means for extracting basic pattern data from tracks on a screen of the input device; second means for discriminating a break of the basic pattern data on the basis of the state information to determine a level of the break with reference to a previously stored table; and third means for grouping a plurality of pieces of basic pattern data on the basis of the level of the break to register the grouped basic pattern data as group data in a high-order hierarchy of the basic pattern data, and also, sequentially grouping a plurality of pieces of group data on the basis of the level of the break to register the grouped group data as high-order group data in a high-order hierarchy of the group data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
