PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of determining the number and perching positions of harmful birds, the processing load for which is significantly reduced by simplifying data processing by means of automatically extracting only necessary and minimum information from image data of the harmful birds in perching.;SOLUTION: The method of determining the number and the perching positions of the harmful birds includes: performing erasure processing for erasing moving objects from image data acquired by taking the image of the harmful birds 1 in perching for a given time period to define target data; comparing the target data with previously created reference data for identifying the postures of the harmful birds 1 in perching; and determining the number and the perching positions of the harmful birds 1 in perching by recognizing presence or absence of the postures identical with or similar to the reference data in the target data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
