The process involves extracting oxygen enriched liquid containing 99 mol percentage of oxygen. The liquid is pressurized and vaporized in an exchange line (21). Nitrogen enriched gas is extracted from a head of a low pressure column (41) and heated in the line. The nitrogen gas is extracted from a head of a medium pressure column (39), heated in the line and released into a nitrogen turbine (17). Argon enriched gas is extracted from the low pressure column and delivered to an argon splitter i.e. argon column (51), to produce a uniform argon enriched flow in a liquid form or final product. An independent claim is also included for an air separation installation comprising an air separation apparatus.
