Crash box for use as deformation element in motor vehicle, for absorbing impact energy during accident, has fastening unit attached to internal space of hollow profile, and fastening bending transverse support to crash box
The crash box (2) has a hollow profile (4) running in a driving direction, and provided with a fastening unit (6) formed as internally threaded sleeve. The fastening unit is seen in a profile section to a crash box-front side that faces a motor vehicle (1), where the profile section runs vertical and transverse to the driving direction. The fastening unit is attached to an internal space (8) of the hollow profile, and fastens a bending transverse support (10) to the crash box. A fastening aid (12) fastens the transverse support and a towing eye (14) to the crash box.
