The method for producing a sealing layer (11) on a side of a glass- or glass ceramic substrate (2), comprises directly applying the sealing layer on the glass- or glass ceramic substrate or on a decorative layer (5) present itself onto the glass- or glass ceramic substrate, where the glass- or glass ceramic substrate or decorative layer is covered by the sealing layer in the applying step. The sealing layer is produced by a sol-gel process, where inorganic solid particles are mixed with sol and contain non-platelet-shaped pigment particles and/or filler (6) and solid lubricant particles (7). The method for producing a sealing layer (11) on a side of a glass- or glass ceramic substrate (2), comprises directly applying the sealing layer on the glass- or glass ceramic substrate or on a decorative layer (5) present itself onto the glass- or glass ceramic substrate, where the glass- or glass ceramic substrate or the decorative layer is covered by the sealing layer in the applying step. The sealing layer is produced by a sol-gel process, where inorganic solid particles are mixed with a sol and contain non-platelet-shaped pigment particles and/or filler (6) and solid lubricant particles (7), which are added to the sol in a weight percentage ratio. The weight percentage ratio between the pigment particles and/or filler to the lubricant particles is 3:1-1.5:1. The produced mixture is applied on the glass ceramic substrate or on the hardened decorative layer and is subsequently hardened at increased temperatures. An aspect ratio of the pigment particles is 1.5:1. A grain size or an agglomerate size of the pigment particles is less than 1 mu m. The pigment particles and/or the filler and the solid lubricant particles are added to the sol, which is used for the production of the sealing layer, in same weight ratio and same composition as the decorative layer. The non-platelet-shaped pigment particles are black pigment e.g. copper-chromium spinels and the lubricant particles and optionally additional inorganic platelet-shaped pigment are graphite, where the quantity of the inorganic pigment is measured, so that the black clay is produced in the sealing layer. The sol-gel binder of the sealing layer is produced from a sol containing tetraethoxysilane and triethoxymethylsilane. A paste is produced from the sol-gel of the sealing layer, pigment particles and/or the filler and the solid lubricant particles and is applied to the glass- or glass ceramic substrate with the combusted decorative layer by screen printing. The decorative layer is laterally structured and is applied only partially on the substrate. The sol-gel binder of the sealing layer is applied, so that it uncovers the areas covered by the decorative layer. The paste applied on the decorative layer is hardened at temperature of less than 250[deg] C. An independent claim is included for a glass- or glass ceramic article.
