The subject matter of the present invention relates to a crashbox apparatus (3) and to an impact absorption system (1) with a crashbox apparatus (3), in particular for a motor vehicle, for absorbing impact forces, comprising: a deformable element (4) for absorbing an impact force, which acts in a main direction, by corresponding deformation and/or a damping movement, an impact-limiting device (9) which is connected to the deformable element (4) at an end region, a support element (5) which is connected to the deformable element (4) at another end region, preferably the other end region lying opposite the first end region and is intended for holding the deformable element (4) and for connecting it to further components, and connecting means for connecting the deformable element (4) to the impact-limiting device (9) and/or to the support element (5), wherein the connecting means have at least one retaining region (6) for retaining the deformable element (4) and, branching off from said region, at least one guide region (7) which, in the event of an impact, permits a movement of the deformable element (4) from the retaining region (6) along the guide region (7) in a secondary direction deviating from the main direction.
