PURPOSE: A system for automatic classification DDC(Dewey Decimal Classification)/KDC(Korea Decimal Classification) of a book and a method for the same are provided to efficiently and promptly perform DDC classification by automating the DDC classification of a book systematically. CONSTITUTION: A classification manual database stores DDC classification codes for each DDC manual term, and a same named-book classifier(300) automatically classifies the DDC classification code of the DDC manual classification term identical to the name of the book to be automatically classified as the DDC classification code of the book. If there is an ISBN(International Serial Book Number) identical to the ISBN of the book, an ISBN book classifier(100) automatically classifies the DDC classification code mapped with the ISBN as the DDC classification code of the book in highest priority.
