PURPOSE: A vinylcyclohexyl benzene compound for liquid crystal or a derivative thereof are provided to obtain stability in a high temperature region more than 100~250 °C and to have wide liquid crystal phase and low viscosity.;CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal compound of a chemical formula 1 comprises the following steps; manufacturing a trans compound of a chemical formula 4 through a reaction of reducing a compound of a chemical formula into sodium bis(2-methoxyethoxy)aluminum hydride; and performing a Wittig reaction of the trans compound. A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal compound of a chemical formula 2 comprises the followings steps: manufacturing a compound of a chemical formula(5-1) by hydrogenating the compound of the chemical formula 5; manufacturing the compound of a chemical formula 3 through reaction of the compound of the chemical formula(5-1); and performing the Wittig reaction of the compound of the chemical formula 3.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
