A method for assessing the quality of life and the survival of the patients with the chronic heart failure provides for the examination of the physical state of the patient scoring all the parameters assessed and calculating the total score. The following parameters are assessed: the edema of the lower legs and the feet, the difficulties in walking, the adverse effects of the drugs, the requirement for the rest sitting or lying within the day, the limitation of the physical performance at home or working at garden plot, the impossibility of traveling, the limitations of working, the limitation of the normal sex life, the impossibility of the active outdoor activities, the requirement for the diet limiting the amount and the variety of foods, the feeling of lack of air, the feeling of the fatigue, the requirement for the periodical hospitalizations, the expenditures for the drugs, the feeling for being the burden for the family, the helplessness, the reduction of the ability to concentrate, the deterioration of the memory, depression. Then each parameter is scored using five-point scale and the total score is calculated. When the total score is 59 and less, the satisfactory prediction is made, namely the low probability of disease-related fatality within three forthcoming years.
