PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fine, yellow, composite, water-containing iron oxide pigment having a fine transparency and heat resistance and a coating and a resin composition using this fine, yellow, composite, water-containing iron oxide pigment. ;SOLUTION: A fine, yellow, composite, water-containing iron oxide pigment having a excellent transparency and heat resistance, comprises a goethite fine particle having an average major-axis size of 0.005 μm or larger but smaller than 0.1 μm, wherein from 0.05 to 50 wt.% aluminum, calculated as Al, is contained inside the particle and a composite water-containing oxide comprising Fe and Al is attached at the particle surface. Preferably, the surface of the attached composite water-containing oxide comprising Fe and Al is coated with from 0.1 to 20 wt.% aluminum hydroxide expressed in terms of Al.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
