PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a characteristic space learning device capable of learning a characteristic space expressing characteristics of a photographic subject from a small number of input images with high accuracy.;SOLUTION: A head part area extraction part 22 extracts a photographic subject area from a plurality of initial learning image to produce a plurality of reference photographic subject images, a three-dimensional model production part 23 produces a three-dimensional model of the photographic subject mapped with the plurality of reference photographic subject images, an interpolation image production part 24 produces a plurality of interpolation images by use of the three-dimensional model, and a characteristic space production part 26 produces the characteristic space expressing the characteristic of the photographic subject by use of a learning sample image group comprising the plurality of reference photographic subject images and the plurality of interpolation images.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
