PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of efficiently updating map data.;SOLUTION: Update data for updating the generation of a storage device for storing the map data including nodes and links includes an additional data section and a virtual node section. The additional data section defines an element to be added, which is nodes and links to be newly added in the second generation. When defining nodes arranged at both ends of a link to be deleted in the second generation, of a first generation network, as nodes to be deleted, the virtual node section defines virtual nodes common to both generations and arranged in all first connection links, which connect nodes to be deleted with non-deletion nodes other than the nodes to be deleted. The element to be added includes a virtual node terminal link having a virtual node as a terminal for all the virtual nodes, and is related to the first generation network at only the virtual node.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
