The electrochemical detection installation for detecting the presence of a biological compound in a sample, comprises a detection cell having an internal wall and two electrodes (12) on the inner wall, and an active part extending in a confined space and on which a biological material is adsorbed. The internal wall has two flat portions connected to one another to form the confined space. The biological compound is specifically captured by the biological material when the sample is contacted with the active part. The captured biological compound is recognized by a specific marker. The electrochemical detection installation for detecting the presence of a biological compound in a sample, comprises a detection cell having an internal wall and two electrodes (12) on the inner wall, and an active part extending in a confined space and on which a biological material is adsorbed. The internal wall has two flat portions connected to one another to form the confined space. The biological compound is specifically captured by the biological material when the sample is contacted with the active part. The captured biological compound is recognized by a specific marker, when the marker is contacted with the active part. The captured and recognized biological compound is detected through an intermediate of a charge carrier by measuring the quantity of electric current passing through the electrodes. The wall portions are movable with respect to one another between a separated position and a close position. The electrodes are located on one of the wall portions. The wall portions are respectively formed by a support plate and a cover plate. The support plate has many portions of the wall on which active parts are arranged to form detection cells. An independent claim is included for an electrochemical detection method for detecting the presence of a biological compound in a sample.
