The method involves contributing a predetermined value of an optical penetration depth (C) with data value to decrease an optical transparency during integration or summation by three dimensional (3D)-image data (1) on a visual line. A degradation function is selected, such that the data on the line contributes with a fraction of the data value for the decrease of optical transparency in a transient area before reaching the predetermined value of the depth to reach a soft process of degradation of an outer layer produced with the function. An independent claim is also included for a device for visualization of three-dimensional (3D)-image data of tomographic imaging.
