The ladder (1) has two longitudinal spars (2). A step (4) extends between the longitudinal spars, and is formed as rungs or levels. A platform (3) is arranged in upper end of the ladder with a railing (5), and forms a component part of the ladder. The platform is joined at a broadside of the ladder to the highest footstep. The railing has a through hole (10) at a turned side of the platform of the step. The platform is firmly fastened at the longitudinal spars and to the highest footstep.
