The method involves determining available wind velocity or wind direction within the area of the solar plant (1) and evaluating wind velocity or wind direction in control equipment (4). The support and retainer (2.1) dependent on the determined wind velocity or wind direction moves around the drag axis by controllable actuator units (8,8') into a parking position. The support level runs perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the solar collector unit (2). An independent claim is included for a solar plant, which has solar collector unit and control equipment.
