Carrier frequency variation determining method for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing transmission system, involves identifying displacement factor pertinent to maximum expected value as integral multiple of sub-carrier interval
The method involves calculating a correlation spectrum serving as a metric from two pairs of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-reference symbols that are received from and transmitted to sub-channels of symbol intervals, respectively, based on an integral displacement factor. The symbols are multiplied with each other in a conjugate-complex manner. An expected value is determined from the calculated metric. The displacement factor pertinent to maximum expected value is identified as an integral multiple of sub-carrier interval in a carrier frequency variation. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining a carrier frequency variation amounting to an integral multiple of sub-carrier interval in a phase-modulated orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-transmission system.
