A roller (1) for rotating cylindrical brushes that can be applied in any industrial, road-related or other sector, of the type constituted by a central support (2), on whose outer surface a plurality of holes (6) to insert and attaching the ends of respective tufts of bristles (5) are distributed with a constant spacing, characterized in that said support is constituted by at least one cylindrical ring (3) and by the fact that said holes (6) are arranged with their open end on planes that are perpendicular to the axis (a) of the roller (1), said holes (6) having successively inclined axes (I, II, ... XVI) with holes (6) arranged in regions diametrically opposite the ring (3) having the axes (II, X; III, XI; IV, XII; V, XIII; VI, XIV; VII, XV; VIII, XVI) alternately inclined on either side with respect to said perpendicular planes that are radial or parallel to planes r adiales passing through the axis (a) of the roller (1) and through the respective hole (6) in order to sweep, with the free ends of the bristles opposite the ends inserted in said holes (6), two bands arranged laterally to the row of tufts inserted in said holes (6).
