PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partition configuration change system capable of efficiently utilizing computer resources by automatically changing the configuration of partitions.;SOLUTION: This partition configuration change system comprising a management node for instructing the change of the configuration of the partitions based on information on a predetermined schedule, an operating system operating on a computer system which transfers, by the instruction, the operating state thereof to a partition configuration changeable state in which normal operating state is stopped and configuration can be changed and notifies that the operating state thereof is transferred, and a service processor which, when receiving a notice indicating that the operating state is transferred, forms the partitions according to the information on components forming the partitions included in the instruction and transfers the operating state of the operating system to the normal operating state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
