PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display panel attaining high transmittance and display quality without degrading adhesiveness between substrates in the liquid crystal display panel using a light shielding layer made of resin.;SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display panel 1 comprises an array substrate 10 formed with pixel electrodes 56 and TFTs 55 in every pixel area PA in a display area DA on a glass substrate 11, and a color filter substrate 20 formed with a resin light shielding layer 61 and a color filter layer 62 on the glass substrate 21. The liquid crystal display panel 1 is formed by enclosing liquid crystal 40 between the array substrate 10 and the color filter substrate 20 that are bonded by a seal material 30. The resin light shielding layer 61 is formed in solid outside the display area DA, and the color filter substrate 20 is formed with a protective film 63 formed of transparent resin. The protective film 63 is formed with an opening 63a in the display area DA and formed to cover the resin light shielding layer 61 outside the display area DA.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
