PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio wave propagation time measurement calibration technology and a distance measurement technology for accurately measuring the distance of a parent station and child station, using a simple configuration.;SOLUTION: A pair of pulses α are transmitted from a reader/writer 10 to an RFID tag 100, and pulse interval Tcal1 is measured. The RFID tag 100 measures pulse interval Tcal2 and transmits it to the reader/writer 10. The reader/writer 10 calibrates the radio wave propagation time measurement, based on the difference between Tcal1 and Tcal2. Then, a required pulse β is transmitted from the reader/writer 10 to the RFID tag 100. The RFID tag 100 transmits a response pulse γ with respect to the β and the period T2, since its receiving the β, until the transmission of the γ to the reader/writer 10.
