The arrangement has a femtosecond fiber oscillator (1) provided as an impulse generating unit. A fiber amplifier (3) is formed both as an impulse amplification device and as an impulse extension device for amplification and extension of femtosecond impulse that is generated by the oscillator. A regenerative amplifier (2) includes a disk-shaped laser crystal that is formed as an amplifying medium. An impulse compression device implements temporal compression of amplified and temporally stretched impulses. An independent claim is also included for a method for generation of regeneratively amplified femtosecond impulses.
