The method involves determining output parameter values and/or performance data for individual process units from input parameter values based on a transfer function. The function is assigned to the respective unit independent of testing requirement and/or the assigned system component of a clinical and/or medical system (SK). The output values are brought as input parameter values for one unit within a process cycle plan. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method of controlling a medical testing operation in a clinical and/or medical technology system (2) a computer program product that is directly stored in a memory of a programmable computer device and having program code units to implement a method of testing a clinical and/or medical technology system, when the computer program product is executed in the computer device (3) a computer program product that is directly stored in a memory of a programmable computer device and having program code units to implement a method of controlling a medical testing operation in a clinical and/or medical technology system, when the computer program product is executed in the computer device.
