POLYIMIDE RESIN SYNTHESIZED FROM 3,4-DICARBOXY-1,2,3,4-TETRAHYDRO-6-T-BUTYL-1-NAPHTHALENESUCCINIC ACID DIANHYDRIDE AND ALIGNING AGENT CONTAINING THE SAME
3,4-Dicarboxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-6-t-butyl-1-naphthalenesuccinic acid dianhydride is provided to produce a liquid crystal alignment layer having improved electric properties including liquid crystal alignment, pretilt angles, voltage holding ratio and residual DC, enhanced printing property, cleaning stability and stability against stain, and fast-curable property at low temperature. An aligning agent contains solvent and polyimide resin prepared by polymerizing the 3,4-dicarboxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-6-t-butyl-1-naphthalenesuccinic acid dianhydride represented by the formula(1) and diamine which is selected from the group consisting of paraphenylenediamine(p-PDA), 4,4-methylenedianiline(MDA), 4,4-oxydianiline(ODA), methabisaminophenoxydiphenylsulfone(m-BAPS), parabisaminophenoxydiphenylsulfone(p-BAPS), 2,2-bisaminophenoxyphenylpropane(BAPP), 2,2-bisaminophenoxyphenylhexafluoropropane(HF-BAPP), 2,2'-dimethyl-4,4'-diaminobiphenyl and 3,3'-dimethyl-4,4'-diaminobiphenyl and compounds represented by the formulae(3) to (6). Further, an average weight of the polyimide resin is 5000 to 500000 g/mol.
