An ursolic acid is provided to protect lipid peroxidation of hydrogen peroxide in auditory cells HEI-OCl and increase activity of antioxidase catalase and glutathione peroxidase, thereby being used for auditory diseases induced by excessive reactive oxygen species with no side effects on human body. A composition for treating diseases induced by over-expression of reactive oxygen species in auditory cells such as ringing in the ears, hearing impairment and hearing loss comprises an ursolic acid represented by a formula(1), wherein the ursolic acid is isolated from Cornus officinalis. Further, the 0.001 to 500 mg of ursolic acid is dosed to 1kg of human body.
