摘要
A real-time stereo vision system design method based on an SAD(Sum of Absolute Difference) matching algorithm using window column-low separation operation is provided to calculate the values of columns of a window used for SAD operation preferentially and perform the SAD operation, thereby reducing the use amount of hardware resources. A real-time stereo vision system comprises two camera pixel register modules, a buffer maker module, a buffer, a disparity calculator, and a minimum value operator module. The camera pixel register modules are configured in a one-dimensional array form. Images inputted through the long camera pixel register modules are stored so that all pixels for an SAD matching window can provide a sufficient amount of pixels for calculating an SAD value at the same time. Each of the camera pixel register modules has the length of {image scan length x (window height - 1) + delta}. In order to reduce the operation amount in SAD matching, a column in a left camera pixel register module and columns of a number as much as (delta + window area) in a right camera pixel register module are extracted to process the operation respectively in each of rows and columns. The extracted columns are transmitted to the buffer maker module.
