The invention relates to a cleaning device including at least one jaw provided with inserts urging an abrasive web against a span to be machined about the axis thereof, the span being driven relative to the jaw according to a rotation movement (MR) about the span axis, that is combined with an oscillation translation movement (MT) along the axis (92) of the span, in order to provide a better control of the abrasion carried out by each insert (5), substantially due to the fact that each insert is mounted at the end of a control rod (10) of a piston (11) movable in a cylinder (12), the piston being urged by a pressurised chamber (14) under a predetermined pressure so that the insert applied a corresponding pressure, the supply pressures of at least two chambers being controlled independently by control means (100, 200).
