PURPOSE: To obtain a composite ceramic bearing material having self-lubricating function by forming ceramics contg. B4C, TiB2 and graphite in a specified ratio. ;CONSTITUTION: B4C powder of about 0.7μm particle diameter is wet-mixed with TiB2 powder of about 6μm particle diameter and this mixture is dried to prepare a powdery mixture consisting of about 30-70wt.% TiB2 powder and the balance B4C powder. Graphite powder of about 20μm particle diameter is added to the powdery mixture and they are dry-mixed to prepare a powdery mixture consisting of about 3-10vol.% graphite powder and the balance B4C powder and TiB2 powder. This powdery mixture is sintered by hot pressing at about 1,900°C under about 60MPa pressure for about 1hr in vacuum at about ≥1×10-1Pa degree of vacuum to obtain the objective composite ceramic bearing material having self-lubricating function.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
